With advances in technology, the energy market has evolved. Many power stations of old are being replaced by smaller power sources. These distributed energy solutions are more affordable and efficient, and secure power at the point of use. South Fork Peak Savers is a program helping businesses and residents on the South Fork of Long Island reduce energy consumption, save money and preserve our environment. This program is offered by Applied Energy Group, Inc., a local consulting company with over 30 years of experience in the energy industry. Every kilowatt counts! Whether you’re a business owner, a local resident or a second homeowner, you can make a difference. The South Fork’s energy consumption is growing at twice the rate of the rest of Long Island, and the peak load is projected to continue to increase most notably in July and August when air conditioning, pool pumps and electronic devices are all in high demand. Becoming a Peak Saver helps lower energy use at the most critical (PEAK) times – and can bring down your energy bill! When you make small changes, they can lead to big savings. South Fork Peak Savers is under contract to PSEG Long Island to provide these services in the towns of East Hampton and Southampton.
